Westminster halfway to champion
The first night of the 2008 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is over. Group winners were selected in four groups, with the remaining 3 groups and Best in Show set for tonight.
Winners in groups were as follows:
- Hound: 15” Beagle; Ch K-Run’s Park Me In First
- Terrier: Sealyham Terrier; Ch Efbe’s Hidalgo At Goodspice
- Non-sporting: Standard Poodle; Ch Brighton Minimoto
- Herding: Australian Shepard; Ch Vinelake Collinswood Yablon OA OAJ
I was happy to see Uno the 15” Beagle win. He is one of the favorites going in, but a hound has never won Best in Show at Westminster. Since I have a Beagle/Bassett mix, I am rooting for Uno. Plus, I like underdogs (pun intended).
It seems Poodles have been winning a lot lately on the show circuit in their groups. so I’d like to see a different breed win. The Toy Poodle shows tonight and is a possible win in that group as well.
Tonight, the groups to show are Sporting, Working and Toy with Best in Show topping off the evening
The last night of the show will be on USA Network tonight 8-11 p.m.
What dogs are you rooting for?
