Storming

That was a first. Around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, the East Butler YMCA staff let me know that I had to move to the locker room because a tornado warning was in effect. We sat in the hallways until 10 p.m. until I chanced it home.

The National Weather Service reports that Hamilton saw between 1 and 1 1/2 inches of rain since yesterday. Though, meteorologist Julie Reed said that the Middletown area saw between 2 1/2 and 3 inches.

An additional 1-2 inches is expected in Hamilton today.

“There could be some lingering flood concerns,” Reed said.

So far, fire officials in St. Clair Twp., a flood prone area, have not seen any flooding.

More severe weather may be expected. Reed also said that a tornado watch would begin for the area shortly.

The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny skies for Thursday.
