How was your Black Friday?

Happy Black Friday to all. I hope you all got the things on your lists and made it to and fro safely.

This morning I headed to the Beavercreek Target where I found people to be in good spirits and it seemed that everybody was being kind and polite. I heard countless “sorrys” for needing to get through the aisles. People helping others get to the items they couldn’t reach through the crowds. And hey, the lines weren’t even that bad. This year Target had employees near the checkout lines taking the people in the massive line and after a glance at the items in their cart directed them to the best lane number. Things were moving pretty smoothly by 8 a.m.

We’ll be covering Black Friday madness today and here’s a look at what we’ve got so far!

I stopped at the Huber Target around 8:15 this morning; pretty busy and any DVDs I’d thought of buying were long gone. I did get the phone I wanted; however, when I got home and opened the box, it was obviously a return…no styrofoam holding parts in place and no instructions,so that has to be exchanged. The Kohl’s was still pretty busy when I stopped in, but Marshall’s and Lowe’s were both pretty calm. Enjoy shopping all!

I got to Old Navy at 4:45am on Black Friday. Old Navy said they giving away MP3 players with a $20.00 purchase (I didn’t really think I would get one), and said in their ad that “Stores Open at 5:00am!” Well, if you read the small print, it said “select stores may open later than 5:00 am.” I did not read that. Although, I would think “select stores” would not mean the Dayton Mall (maybe a smaller locale). Anyway, there was this huge line at the mall, and it was disbanding with security and whatnot, and people were shouting because the store actually wasn’t opening until 7:00am. And even if you waited until 7:00am, there were only 120 available, so your chances were pretty slim. This also was not noted in the ad.
