Kids can celebrate tonight too!

Looking for something for your kids to do tonight?

You can always keep them home and celebrate with some non-alcoholic sparkling cider or grape juice (available at most grocery stores this time of year), microwave popcorn and a good movie! Let them invite over a friend or two to stay the night (if you’ll be home and you’re up to the challenge).

Silly party hats and tiaras make for a fun atmosphere and I haven’t met a kid yet that didn’t enjoy making noise, so be sure to pick up a package of noisemakers so they can celebrate when the ball drops.

I’d advise frozen pizzas instead of trying to order one to be delivered if pizza is your plan for dinner. Delivery times will undoubtedly be slow tonight with the sheer volume of parties.

Or you can head down to RiverScape if you’re in the Dayton area. They are hosting a no-alcohol, family friendly party complete with Ice Skating and fireworks over the river at midnight. The cost to get in is just $5 and includes skate rentals.

If you want to leave the kids at home while you go out to celebrate, be prepared to pay a little extra to your babysitter (if you can find one). Often, babysitters will charge double or triple their normal rate on a night like New Year’s Eve.
