Summer school zones
So, I finally have an answer… sort of. I talked to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, and they said they will enforce school zones this summer if summer school is taking place in the building. What I haven’t been able to track down is where all the summer schools will be held. It is rather random from what I understand. So, in the meantime, if you see a lot of cars or children at a school during restricted hours, slow down. I will keep you posted if I find out specifics on schools. I know the high schools may be locations throughout the summer.

Way to give back!
I just wanted to highlight an awesome thing two Hopewell Elementary School girls did this past weekend. The girls, Katie Zenz and Madison Powers, had been studying citizenship in their social studies class. Their teacher, Staci Hathaway, said they talked about what makes a good citizen, and how students their age can contribute to the community. April 5 after spending time at Lakotafest, the girls went by their school and noticed a mess near the recycling bins and the playground. They took it upon themselves to clean it up. Way to go girls! I would love to hear about other great things kids are doing. Feel free to brag about yours and send me tips! Perhaps they may make it into the news!
