BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!

In case you haven’t noticed, Lakota students are back in school today. Traffic was definitely heavier with everyone on the road this morning. I dropped into the new East Freshman building, and students were picking up their schedules. The atmosphere was definitely charged with excitement. I am heading over to West to see the new renovations. I will be interviewing some Lakota East jazz students that made it into the state honor band, and I may just head to one of the elementary school buildings for lunch.

What kinds of back-to-school stories would you like to see? I would love to hang out at a bus stop for the first day of kindergarten? Any takers?

It’s 5 p.m. somewhere

I cannot tell a lie. I have absolutely no idea what to blog about today. It is Friday, the sun is shining and I am still burned out from a four-hour Fairfield City School Board meeting last night. My dark chocolate Hershey kisses just aren’t filling my rumbling stomach, and I can’t help thinking about the novel tucked into my purse.

I have two hours to go before weekend freedom and the clock can’t tick fast enough! Can you relate? But, I suppose I must write something somewhat helpful today, so here it is.

The Lakota Local School Board of Education will meet Monday. There. I feel much better now.

I am curious to see what Lakota students will be up to on their first weekend of freedom. There are definitely more kids playing outside, and the evenings are rarely quiet in my neighborhood. I plan to spend all day Saturday with my parents in Findlay, Ohio. My mom and my favorite activity is sitting on the porch reading books all day. Are we exciting or what?! Meanwhile, my husband will be cramming for his finals at U.C. where he is working on his doctorate in cell biology as well as pharmacy school. I fear he will never be done with school!

Enough about me. After all, this is a Lakota blog not a Lindsey’s life blog. Have a wonderful weekend, and remember — it’s 5 p.m. somewhere.

Yeah, Lindsey, the clock just can’t tick fast enough today. Especially after being out late last night watching the Cyclones win the Kelly Cup. I found yesterday’s insight into religious organizations and college choice very interesting. Like your husband, I am also a Cedarville alum. I had to laugh at the reference to the ladies who go there to get their MRS Degrees. Spot on, Lindsey, spot on.
