Trucker strike, part II | Living Green

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

Today is the 38th annual celebration of the planet we call home, and a day to step back and think about things we can do to preserve and restore our natural resources…

So that’s the official line on Earth Day, but I want to know: what do YOU think about Earth Day?

Is it a time to reflect on accomplishments?

A time to call for more action?

Or something in-between?

Send a post, let us know, then go outside and do something good for the planet.

Trucker strike, part II

Last night’s Nightly Business Report on CET featured an interview with the president and CEO of the American Trucking Association. The interview was aired, I suspect, in light of the move by 100 independent truckers to “strike” in Washington, D.C, a move aimed at getting lawmakers to address diesel costs.

A transcript of the interview can be read here. Take a look, and let us all know: what are your thoughts on the effect of $4.19 diesel on the trucking industry? What do you think of the independent truckers’ “strike” (quotes heavily emphasized)? What do you think is the solution for the problems addressed in the interview?
