New skate park ideas

Mason city officials are talking about talking to Butler County officials about a joint skate park venture. The city shelved plans for its own park last year, because of cost overruns and the inability to strike a deal with Deerfield Twp. Township officials said they should have been part of the discussion, not just cost sharing. Officials are thinking a skate park might be a nice addition to the 435-acre Voice of America Park in West Chester Twp. What do you think?

Excellent idea. Great way to keep kids out of trouble. One major, major suggestion… Let bmx bikes in the park and it will be a full success. NONE of the public parks around let bikes in! PLEASE let bmx bikes in!

I agree with Trevor. It is a great way to keep kids out of trouble. Please let BMX bikes in! There’s nowhere to ride around without getting kicked out.

I agree with Trevor, it is a great way for keeping kids out of trouble. I also agree with the idea of letting BMX bikes in the park. There are no public parks around that let bikes in. It would be a refreshing change to have that.

Please build a park I have been waiting for a skatepark in voa for a long time and when they were declined last time I very mad. I think this is a great idea because when im skating around westchester people get mad and call the police which make us go home so we dont get to skate. also if your going to build a skatepark make it good and talk to actual skaters or skatepark designers dont just make one of those low budget sheet metal and duct tape parks like loveland has. thanks

I think having a skate park in voa is a great idea. One thing though, I live by mason middle school and have skated up to voa and the shopping center before. If you do make it please make sure it is easily acsesible for pedestrians. It is very hard to get up there and it would be alot easier to make it at the front of the park so we dont have to walk all the way back there. I also agree with Brian. If you’re going to build a wood and sheet metal park dont even bother. The plans we had a couple of years ago were great. please dont skimp out on the cost because it would just plain ruin the park.
