Lunch prices increasing

Food costs are expected to increase 15 percent for Carlisle next year, according to a report Carlisle Treasurer Jerry Ellender will give the Board of Education Monday, June 23. That will add about $30,000 to the district’s food cost.

Carlisle is planning on going to $2.25 for primary students, $2.50 for middle school students and $3 for basket lunch. The old prices were $2.15, $2.40 and $2.85.

About 38 schools in the Southwest region have already upped their prices or might increase them, according to a report I got with my Franklin Board of Education packet. None of the prices out of the 100 plus schools listed on the report are above $3.
