Blackwell thinks “Celebrity” ad just fine
Republican John McCain’s “Celebrity” TV ad has some of Democrat Barack Obama’s supporters upset. They don’t much like Obama being compared to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, as the ad does.
Well, Republican Ken Blackwell (pictured), who aired a few hard-hitting TV ads of his own in the 2006 Ohio governor’s race, thinks the ad is just fine.
Blackwell said so on Sunday, Aug. 3, when he appeared on Wolf Blitzer’s “Late Edition” show. Click here to see what Blackwell and former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk, who didn’t like the ad, had to say.
What did you think of the ad?

Worthless article. Good point Steve/ MMS on the “does anyone care what Blackwell thinks” comment. Alan- Obama will “destroy this country”. You’ve got to be kidding! What do you think the past 7 1/2 years have been about with Bush (and the Republican controlled Congress for most of his stint as president?) Hint- the economy, the world view of us now, the job market, the going nowhere war that little Hitler started, the immigration problem, the social security problem, the healthcare problem, the energy problem. Big man Bush has had almost eight years to improve at least one item from this list. Has he done that? Oh and tell your boy McCain that he shouldn’t have hugged little tyrant on stage for all to see. Makes it seem like he’s wants to be like his hero. (To be fair, Clinton and the Democrats didn’t exactly burn up the road getting things done either.)Both parties have contributed to the downward fall of our country but Georgie B.has really accelerated the speed of decline.By KJoyner

dude, null: your sentence is gramatically incorrect. Jim, Ethel, Alan: Your points are not supported factually but rather typical ‘sports-fan like’ in position. (My team is the best no matter what) You are not presenting an intelligent argument at all. It’s just a typical Republican filter of entitlement and superiority that will never see or even consider Red as in error in any way. That is, ironically, like a typical hollywood script. It is time for change so get ready for it….it is SURELY coming to fruition.By Jim 5

No, I do not think that someone is a racist for not voting for Ken Blackwell. Blackwell just drew the wrath of public school executives and their liberal lobbyists. His proposal to “divert” a taxpayer’s money to the classroom threatened their executive level of compensation. Race was just the convenient weapon to attack him with. What this story really reveals is how effective a trustee of public money Ken Blackwell is. I hope we see him running in the future.By dude

In Blackwell’s campaign he promised Ohioans that school districts would be required to spend 65 cents of every taxpayer dollar on actually educating kids. This struck such a nerve that Democrat Ted Strickland got away with using racist campaign attacks. Where was Barack Obama to defend his fellow African-American candidate then? Now?By Tom

McCain’s right! Anyone who thinks Usama Obama is a leader, is terribly mistaken, and for the good of this country, had better think twice about voting for him, and I don’t care what party you support.By MMS

I agree with Sen. McCain that Sen. Obama is not ready for prime time either as an actor on the screen or the Presidency. Sen. Obama should think about starring in the next Batman movie as the Joker. It was disgusting to see Sen. Obama give a speech in Germany at the Victory Column, the very same place Hitler gave his victory speech when he conquered Europe.By mwm

People are upset due to Obama’s success, but I didn’t hear any crying from those same people when it was Bush Jr.(Texas Gov. for two terms, but had NEVER been out of the country even to Mexico before Presidency)By bigrobj111

It was demeaning to his opponent??? It just pointed out that Obama is being treated like an contestant on American Idol instead of a presidential candidate. The media is fawning all over him like he is a rock star and what has he done to deserve that treatment? Nothing!!! He hasnt accomplished anything in his short time in the Senate and has changed his tune on several issues since he secured his party’s nomination. He is not a leader, he is a socialist who will destroy this country.By Lady Vandalia Boomer for Obama

The ad said nothing about McCain’s leadership strengths. Instead, he chose to use his ad money to demean his opponent, a tactic McCain vowed not to use. How honorable is that!
