Ohio State’s Gee tackles Carson Palmer issue
Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee responded to Carson Palmer’s recent rant against the Buckeyes on Wednesday, July 23, in a meeting with the Dayton Daily News editorial board.
Palmer, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and a proud Southern Cal alum, told a Los Angeles radio station that he “cannot stand the Buckeyes.” The Buckeyes visit Southern Cal on Sept. 13.
“It shows how powerful we are, when you love to hate us,” Gee said. “Now, of course, I will be interested to see how he survives in Ohio over the next season.
“The biggest complement you can have is when people get outraged about how much support you have and how good your teams are.”
Gee said that there are 11 million Ohioans “and every one of them is a Buckeye on Saturday afternoon.” Everyone but Palmer, that is.

Three cheers for Carson Palmer! Newsflash: Not every Ohioan is a Buckeye fan. I am a Miami alumnus and my sister is an OU alumnus. Ohio State is the last team we would root for. I am sick and tired of the arrogant swagger of Tressel and Gordon GEEK. They need to keep their big mouths shut! I look forward to the Michigan game this year.By native texan

Life would be so boring if everybody just loved one thing — love this smack talking!!! makes the games more fun. good for GG for not dodging the issue, like some other boring academics would have. i wonder if USC and Michigan’s presidents even have a sense of humor. Probably not. They take themselves quite seriously. So do WE, but with a smile. Glad this blog is back up and running.By chris

not all ohioans become buckeyes on autumn saturdays. and we don’t dislike osu because they’re a great big ten/would-be middle of road SEC team … we dislike them because buckeyes fans are on par with UK and Steelers fans — annoying, irrational idiots.By chris
