Third St. Tap & Grille a new, contemporary style pub
Friday, April 06, 2007
Diners can enjoy meals and watch sports in several rooms, including a plant-filled atrium, at Hamilton's newest contemporary style bar, Third Street Tap & Grille. The hot spot has had large weekend crowds since the doors opened around St. Patrick's Day — many patrons there to dance and enjoy music by the video DJ or live bands.
"I think we have a place that lends itself to a combination of great food and quality entertainment," said LeAnna Doughty, the co-owner of the restaurant. Doughty calls the menu at Third Street Tap & Grille "casual" and "made to order."
Extras
Appetizers are served all day and include wings, potato skins, chicken strips and onion tanglers — a house specialty made from slender cut onion strips that are lightly breaded and fried.
The lunch menu features both sandwiches and specials, with portions so large that even the heartiest diner will likely take part of his meal home.
"My club was so large, I had to split it with my friend," said patron Mike Tuttle, of Hamilton.
Patron Dan Arthur agreed and promised to recommend the restaurant to his friends. "It was great, and my Reuben was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had," he said.
Lunch specials include Mini Grills — three mini-burgers with a side dish. A fish sandwich special and chicken strips are popular choices, and the salad menu includes a salmon caesar and tuna plate.
The dinner menu is available throughout the day and has a large selection of seafood such as talapia, salmon, jumbo shrimp and fish. The menu is complete with sirloin steak and The Tavern Fish Dinner.
Cheesecake is offered for dessert.
"We wanted to create a menu that offers a variety of choices," Doughty said. "All of my foods are fresh and we'll prepare them to order."
Third Street Tap & Grille features a stage and dance area for patrons to enjoy the music. A full-service bar, "Third Street" — as it's being dubbed by regulars — includes all major brands of wine and liquor and 14 varieties of draft beer.
Food from the menu is available to bar patrons, and tables are placed near the dance floor. Third Street also offers wireless internet access for those wanting to work while they eat.
