It's Hip to be Active

(HealthScoutNews) -- Here's a bit of good news for any of you have fallen and broken your hip. It actually means that you've had a full life.

That's the word from the Journal of Trauma, in a study by the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, which looked at people who suffered from broken hips and found an interesting pattern.

Those at greatest risk had experienced the most life events -- including family births, deaths, major financial dealings and health changes.

The study concluded that the more major life events you've gone through, the greater your risk of falling and breaking your hip, regardless of your marital status, education or age.
