Get latest headlines via RSS feedsLynda and Buddy Combs of Fairfield are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Christi Combs, to Eric Merkle, son of Michelle Roth of Florence, Ky., and Bill Merkle of Cincinnati.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Fairfield High School, Miami University and Wright State University. She is employed as a teacher by Hamilton City Schools.
Her fiance is a graduate of Fairfield High School. He is employed as a program manager by US Foodservice.
The couple have set a
June 19 wedding date.

Mr. and Mrs. R. Edward Hutton, Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Oakes Hutton, to Howard Russell Wade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley R. Wade of Franklin, Tennessee.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Brentwood Academy and University of Mississippi. She is employed as a teacher with Franklin Road Academy. Her fiance is a graduate of Franklin High School and Miami University. He is employed as a financial analyst with SMS Holdings.
The couple have set a
June 21 wedding date.
Elsie and Charlie Lainhart
Charlie L. and Elsie (Sweeney) Lainhart, 56 year residents of Fairfield, observed their 67th wedding anniversary April 4. They were married in 1941 in Lindenwald.
Mr. Lainhart, who retired from Fischer Body after 30 years, also played lead guitar with the Rocky Mountain Ramblers. Mrs. Lainhart retired from Pease Woodwork Company after 35 years. Both are Kentucky Colonials. After retirement, they spent 17 tourist seasons as managers of the St. Mary's Sailboat Club.
They have two daughters, Linda (Rob) Hillard and Judy (Rick) Mapes; two granddaughters; one grandson, two great-granddaughters and one great-, great-, great-grandson (five generations).
Carol and David Thomas
David and Carol (Riedel) Thomas celebrated a half century of marriage on
April 16. The couple has resided in West Chester for more than 35 years. David is retired from Ford Motor Co. and Carol is retired from the Lakota School District as a business teacher.
Their children and spouses are Bret and Bobbie Thomas of Salem, Conn.; Chris and Malisa Hartung of Louisville, Ky.; and Brian and Marlo Metzinger of Roswell, Ga.
The family is blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Joshua, Megan, Samuel and Elizabeth Metzinger. They thank God for these many memorable years of commitment, support and love to each other.
