Urgent Care center offers extended hours

While the idea of opening Urgent Care of Fairfield in a shopping plaza might seem unusual to some people, it made perfect sense to Tarik Anjari, Husam Hamed, Alex Taleb, Farzen Foruhari and Bashar Brijawi — five doctors who offer nearly 50 years of combined experience at the Fairfield Twp. practice.
The business opened last year within the 66-acre Bridgewater Falls lifestyle center, sandwiched between Chipotle and Noble Roman's Pizza.
Its central location and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily hours make the practice an appealing choice for those who are unable to take time from their busy schedules, Hamed said.
"(People) come here to do their shopping or to eat and if they have a sore throat or something, they don't have to wait a day or two until they get with their primary care doctor," he said. "They can just walk in, see the doctor and go back to work."
Trenton resident Alberta Ring stopped by after battling head and chest congestion and doctors X-rayed her and diagnosed her with bronchitis.
"They took real good care of me," she said. "I like their service and I'll probably be going back."
Hamed said its location gives the business a strategic leg up on the centers 8 to 10 miles away. "Anybody who lives around here is about 5 to 7 miles away from any urgent care."
