Cincinnati Family Enrichment Center opens its doors
The Cincinnati Family Enrichment Center announces its grand opening with an open house to be held 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at its new location, 4244 Hamilton Ave.

Allstate recognizes top agent performance

SMART produces new coated paper
SMART Papers in Hamilton will be the first North American paper maker to produce Forest Stewardship Council-certified premium cast-coated papers, according to the company.
The Kromekote triple cast-coated paper is known for its mirror-smooth surface, rich gloss and outstanding print performance. It is now available in Kromekote Recycled, company officials said.
The Kromekote Collection includes high gloss, deep colors, foils, metallics and pearls, as well as textures, folding board and Tuffkote, SMART Paper officials said.
Discounts help Kroger increase 1st-quarter profits
Despite tough economic times and tightened consumer budgets, Kroger Co. officials said its food, gas and drug discounts helped draw shoppers into stores, boosting first-quarter profits by 15 percent.
The Cincinnati-based grocer earned $386 million, or 58 cents per share, for the quarter ending May 24 compared with a profit of $336.6 million, or 47 cents per share, a year ago. In total, shares increased 7 percent, according to the earnings report. Revenue rose 12 percent to $23.11 billion from $20.73 billion a year ago.
Kroger operates 2,474 stores under 24 banners in 31 states.
