Monroe police are searching for a woman who robbed a Speedway gas station early this morning.

Sgt. Brian Curlis said the woman entered the Speedway at 461 Oxford State Rd. at 1:54 a.m. and told the clerk, "give me $100 and I won't shoot this." Curlis said the woman had her right hand inside her pocket as if she had a weapon.

The clerk complied and the woman immediately fled the scene. Curlis said a blue 1980s-model Saab was seen driving off about 30 seconds later, but the vehicle may or may not have been involved in the crime.

The woman was described to police as a white female in her upper 40s, with dyed-blonde hair, about 5-foot-7, 180 pounds, wearing blue jeans, a black sweatshirt and a green-and-white striped shirt.

Police are still investigating the robbery and released pictures from the gas station's video camera.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Monroe Police Department at (513) 539-9234
