A Hamilton resident alledgedly assaulted a man, then led Oxford police on a high speed pursuit to Millville on April 22.
Scott Young, 22, 5 Baldwin Court, Hamilton, was charged with assault, OVI, DUS and fleeing/failure to comply with an officer's signal.
Police said he assaulted a 20-year-old employee of Brick Street Bar and Grill last Tuesday while the employee was trying to break up an altercation between Young and another patron at about 2:15 a.m.
Approximately 40 minutes later, officers noticed Young's vehicle driving near the intersection of High Street and Patterson Avenue. Young allegedly refused to stop his vehicle and wound up leading officers in a pursuit south on U.S. 27.
Police were able to apprehend Young in Millville before transporting him to Butler County Jail and booking him for the handful of charges.
Man allegedly breaks windows of estranged wife's car
A College Corner Pike resident reportedly broke the windows of his estranged wife's vehicle by throwing bottles through them.
Police were notified April 22 of a domestic disturbance at the College Corner Pike trailer park, arriving to find the 28-year-old man knocking himself out on the side of the car. Officers said the vehicle had most of its windows broken at this point, including both the front and rear windshields.
Upon speaking with the man, police noticed he had sustained a cut on his wrist and had the Oxford Life Squad transport him to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital for treatment of the wound.
The dispute between the couple had apparently been ongoing since they separated a few weeks prior to the incident, with police noting the vehicle was registered to the suspect's wife. No charges had been filed against the subject as of Monday, April 28.
Crying female reportedly caused disturbance
Police arrested a 19-year-old Miami University student after they found her crying on the front yard of a North Beech Street residence.
Alexandra Price, 500 Maple Street #149, was charged with underage intoxication and transported to the Oxford Police Department on April 24.
Officers spoke with several people on the front porch of the residence, who said that Price did not live there and had been inside the residence causing a disturbance earlier in the evening.
Price allegedly had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath and was hard to understand when she spoke because of how much she was crying. After identifying her as 19, police said she almost fell to the ground three times and was clearly impaired.
Student charged with drug trafficking, abuse
A 21-year-old Miami University student was charged with drug abuse following a pair of interactions with Oxford Police.
Andrew Rivera-Myers, 902 Arrowhead Drive #1, was first cited with trafficking in drugs on March 25, after he alledgedly attempted to sell marijuana to another party in town.
Police executed a search warrant on Rivera-Myers' residence on April 18, using forced entry to gain access to the apartment. A search of the residence alledgedly found more marijuana, with police issuing Rivera-Myers a citation for drug abuse.
