Friday, May 02, 2008
MONROE — Monroe Local Schools technology coordinator has decided to resign her post after the district's Board of Education recently decided to abolish the position as a cost-savings measure.
The board by a 3-0 vote agreed to accept the release and separation agreement and written resignation of Mandy VanCleave during a special meeting Friday morning, May 2. Vice president Chris Snyder and board member Mike Lane, who were both present for part of the meeting, were absent during the vote.

VanCleave's resignation is effective July 31, said Superintendent Elizabeth Lolli, who declined to provide further details about her resignation.
The board voted unanimously during its March 24 meeting to adopt a resolution to suspend the administrative contract of VanCleave, who is in her second year of serving as technology coordinator, upon receiving a recommendation from Lolli to reduce administrative staff. The suspension of her contract would have been effective Aug. 1, officials said.
VanCleave's salary will be used to provide technology support through Southwestern Ohio Computer Association and a contracted service, Lolli said.
The position is being eliminated to help the district in the reorganization of administrative functions to prepare for students entering the first and second grades next year to be moved to Monroe Primary School, she said.
