MONROE — A Monroe woman who reportedly was driving a car that crashed into a van and then a semi truck this morning was taken to Atrium Medical Center for minor injuries, according to Monroe police.

A passenger in the van was also transported to Atrium for treatment, said Monroe police Officer Eric Walton.

Milagros Lapid, of Monroe, was driving a Toyota west on Ohio 63 at about 8:49 a.m., when police say she failed to yield while turning south onto Main Street and struck a van driven by Raymond Jones, of North Vernon, who was traveling east on Ohio 63, Walton said.

Lapid's vehicle then spun around and struck a semi truck traveling west on Ohio 63, Walton said.

Traffic in both directions of Ohio 63 was moving regularly by 9:30 a.m.
