About all the old and elderly people noticed at the RNC convention - they are the generation with the money. They are from the generation that actually worked and saved & didn’t look for handouts from the government. They actually paid for their own education, homes, and medical bills. They were not adverse to working 2 jobs to earn what they wanted, needed-they are the people whose 30+ children haven’t left home yet. Hang on to your pocketbooks people, we’re about to get fleec

Barack Hussein Obama will be, if elected, the first Arab-American President Not black American

American voted for a person that they can trust, someone with dignity that doesn’t seem persuaded by lobbyists or corporations. America needs a modern leader to represent and lead it in an increasingly global economy/culture.

If you look at the Republican convention, you see a party filled with old(elderly?), stuffy, over-privileged white people that believe in drilling for more oil. That hardly represents the views of the masses of Americans. Americans lost trust in its political leaders due to the questionable and costly decisions and policies of the last 8 years, as well as the scandals of the Clinton era. (continued…)

The reason America voted for BO not just fiscal or tax policies. Americans voted for a social change, a change in perception, a change in leadership, a change in representation. The generation of baby boomers and their outdated policies and views are no longer in charge. Americans elected a man that best represented them. (continued…)

IMO, all you Obama haters should go to YouTube, and watch McCain’s concession speech. McCain was nothing but class, and I wish we had seen this side of John earlier. I have a whole new respect for John McCain. McCain lost the election when he sold out to the GOP/ Bush’s hired guns, and when he bought into the Palin nonsense. Had McCain been McCain, and told the right to stuff it, he actually might have had a shot. At least he went out with dignity, grace, and class.

I find it amazing that BO is criticized for the very words from his own mouth, the response is give him a chance, he’s not even in office, yet. And then the mantra that because BO wins, America wins, yet, he is not even in office yet to determine that either. Of course that is the double standard that always defines the Democratic Party. In a way I glad BO won, and the Dems have “even more control,” when the bottom falls out it will be completely the Dems fault … almost worth it.

I hope the rest of America is more gracious in accepting the new direction of the country than those who have posted their malicious comments here. Losing is tough, but under Obama America wins. Those who paint him as a Muslim, a terrorist, a socialist, or any other thing they can think of to try to scare people, are just afraid of change. I hope that we will see over the next months and years that all those irrational fears are completely unfounded. Americans can stop hating each other now. :)

Look, if you voted for McCain because you wanted smaller government, less spending, a guy that’s been around, etc. I respect that. But all this crazy anti-Obama nonsense is old. BO was elected because people who voted for him do not want to take personal responsibility for their own lives. They want BO to take care of them. We make our own choices, our jobs, our homes. We make choices to be successful or not. If we want a job that pays better, we seek it out, we educate ourselves to become a more viable commodity. Don’t look to the government to take care of you. Do it on your own nickel, not the government’s.

Obama was elected because people want and need change in America. When you can’t feed your family, purchase a home, nor rely on a consistent job with a fair and reasonable wage, it’s time to change something. To anyone on this forum making over $4 Million a year, then McCain was your man. But if you own 1 home, don’t have a CEO bank job to get bailed out of, or simply couldn’t afford to buy gas and food this summer at the same time, even if you don’t know it yet, America just did you a big favor

By the way. It wasn’t a landslide. A little over half the country wanted Obama. He just happened to be popular in electorally heavy states. 52% to 47% doesn’t constitute a landslide. He still has to show the other half that he can do the job. If he doesn’t he’ll be out in 4. If he does, everybody wins. Life goes on. All these hidden agendas you seem to harbor about Obama are figments of your imagination and republican rhetoric.

Yes he made good money, but he worked damn hard for it. He employed 75 employees, paid for 80 percent of their health insurance, gave Christmas bonuses every year, 40lk, paid vacations, and good wages. I can accept the fact that he won. What disturbs me is what I viewed on YouTube showing 2 Black Panthers outside a polling place in Philly intimidating voters. One was holding a night stick and spouting off “I am security” Correct me if I am wrong but that is illegal. Why didn’t the police arrest them? I think we know the reason why. WAY TO GO AMERICA, GET READY FOR MORE OF THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR.

Listen folks, we all need to get on our knees and ask God to forgive us, a nation and a people, for turning our back on Him and God’s principles. We must ask for His mercy and forgiveness and pray that God will once again protect and bless this great nation. We must do it now for our sakes and for the future of our children.

Today is a day for everyone to rejoice… Not only did so many doubt but the said we couldnt do it. Not by a little but a whooooole lot. It seems there were voters who said they would vote for Mc Cain… and then went behind the poll walls and did the opposite. Take one moment to respect what this man has done and will do. You cant cure stupid and you would have to be to beleive all the myths and lies that have been told… Nevertheless HE WON GET OVER IT :-p

Disappointed that McCain who I believed was the better candidate—didn’t win…but it is not the end of the world for any of us who didn’t support Obama. People who supported Obama have high expectations and for awhile at least people will excuse him if he can’t deliver on his campaign promises. Obama has been given the greatest and highest responsibility not to justify liberalism but to govern from the center.I understand the importance of his election and my prayers are with him.

Hello everyone, It appears as if there are alot of angry people out here. Here’s the thing. God allowed this to happen. what you dont understand is that anything that God has his hands in, his will shall be done. And there isnt a thing man (which means all of us) can do about it. God heard the prayers of the American people crying, shouting, and jumping for change; and he allowed it to be. It doesnt have anything to do with Black or white. He is a bi-racial man with both black and

Cicily, you’re a fool if you believe anything about the Socialist candidate’s campaign was clean, or that everything’s gonna be alright. You’re not getting any of my hard earned money from the govt that you just elected. Stuff that into your Bible & smoke it!

Everyone gets all excited about who the president is, but never think about the congress/house of reps. There has been a strong democrat representation in both during this horrible time. I am neither and I like people need to start looking at the actual individual you are voting for. Obama will be like every other person who becomes presidents, he will do a few of his pet projects. Then he fall in the pocket of the wealthy folks. That is what politicians do.

Personally, I am proud of John McCain and Sarah Palin and thought they did an excellent job! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the many voters out there who have made this a very disappointing day in American history. I will not support this man. By doing so would require me to lower my values, standards and beliefs and I was raised better than that. Black or white, man or woman, unfortunately, we have become a very lost nation with people who seem to think that everything is acceptable.

Scott, I”m not blaming Bush for all of it. And, as I said, I don’t expect Obama to be able to deliver on everything either. Government is many people, not one. The president, however, is who we are talking about here, eh? What too many people here are doing is dissing him before he’s even had a chance to do anything - that is ignorant. We shall see what happens, won’t we?

I think it’s funny how many people conservatives and liberals just keep going off on everybody. Whether we like it our not we should all give him a chance I know I’m still scared, but its not based on his decisions, it’s based on Congress. So we have to sway Congress! :)

Did anyone else notice that when Rev. Wright took the podium last night that all of the networks cut away and didn’t show him? This is the first example of how the media will be/has been controlled under the Obama presidency. I hope that the video comes out somewhere. Wonder if he spewed his racist hate-speech and said GD America as he has in the past!

He ran to the center to get elected. They all do. That is not the problem. All we really know about him is that he hangs with old red diaper babies. In all of his unguarded moments he has let slip a facist/socialist bent to his core politics. He will also get jerked to and fro by a Congress drunk with a desire to set in concrete a constituency wholly dependent on government for survival.
