Lakota East, West spring athletes honored by GMC

The Greater Miami Conference recently announced its postseason all-league teams for the spring season, and Lakota East and Lakota West were well-represented.
Here's a look at who was recognized for each sport:
Extras
Baseball
West's Bill Dreisbach and East senior shortstop Colton Cattani were named Coach of the Year and Player of the Year, respectively.
First-teamers for West were: junior shortstop Bryan Beaver; senior centerfielder Jimmy Brenneman; senior third baseman Craig Gauden; senior first baseman Rob Shaw; and junior pitcher Nathan Smith.
On the second team for East were: senior infielder Brad Blyberg, junior infielder Evin Dusold and senior catcher Jeff Nilsen. West junior left-fielder Ricky Finley also was on the second team.
Softball
East juniors Hillary Ballinger (pitcher) and Emily Lafferty (catcher) joined West junior first baseman Chelsea Sherman on the first team.
East senior outfielder Allison Mills, senior first baseman Kristen Shearer and junior third baseman Alexa Thompson were second-team picks.
Boys track
West's Bakari Bussey (400-meter) and Brandon Candella (800) were first-team recipients.
Third-team selections for West were: Rashod McClendon (100); Jordan Parayil (1,600); Dezmond Shepherd (110 hurdles); the 800 relay (McClendon, Brandon Neal, D.J. Brown, Bussey); and Neal (long jump). East's Andrew Hills (800) also was on the third team.
Girls track
East's Katelyn Turner (long jump) was a third-team selection.
Boys tennis
West junior and state champ Wyatt Lippert was named co-Player of the Year.
West senior Taylor Broda (second singles) was a second-team pick, while third-teamers for West were: Martin Burbank (third singles); Chris Arozarena and Mike Girardot (first doubles); and Sean Sachdeva and Jake Walker (second doubles).
Boys volleyball
West landed a pair of players on the first team in senior Randy Thomas and sophomore Dylan Kembre, while East senior Alex Helsinger joined them.
East senior Mike Rawlins and West junior Tyler Ostrander were second-team picks.
