Local athletes gear up for Olympic track trials

Staff Report

Friday, June 27, 2008

Twins Tara and Kara Storage of Beavercreek head a list of six area athletes expected to participate in the Trials.

They are scheduled to run in the 10,000 meters tonight. Both are graduates of Beavercreek High School and the University of Dayton. Tara was ninth in the 10K at the U.S. national champions in 2007. That earned her a spot on the U.S. Women's world distance racing team which competed in Italy. Kara missed most of the 2007 season with an injury.

Others include Fairmont graduate Robert Klenk in the men's hammer throw, Jeff See, an Ohio State runner from Middletown in men's 1,500 meters and racewalkers Susan Randall of Beavecreek and Matt Boyles of Cedarville. Klenk just completed his senior year at Ashland University where he was second in the NCAA Division II hammer throw. He will compete Monday.
