Ostermann masters Dayton senior meet

DAYTON — Paul Ostermann of Middletown won three events and finished second in two others during the Dayton Senior Masters Track and Field meet, held June 21 at Welcome Stadium. Ostermann won the 200-meter run with a time of 29.6 seconds, leapt 13-2 to win the long jump and claimed first in the triple jump with a distance of 24-2. Ostermann also placed second in the 100 dash (14.1 seconds) and the 400 run

(1:10.2).

Lockridge enjoys second season

CEDARVILLE — Middletown Christian High School graduate Andrew Lockridge pitched well for the record-setting Cedarville Yellow Jackets this season. Lockridge, a sophomore sports management major at Cedarville University was second on the squad with 66 2/3 innings pitched. He produced a 4.59 ERA and a third-best 49 strikeouts while compiling a 4-5 record. The Yellow Jackets set a school record for wins in a season during a 23-33 campaign in 2008 and participated in the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament for the first time since 2004. Lockridge is the son of Daniel and Lorrie Lockridge of Cincinnati.

Two holes-in-one at Armco Park

MIDDLETOWN — A pair of holes-in-one were reported this week at the Armco Park golf course. On Monday, June 23, Norman Sharrett of Middletown aced the 114-yard hole No. 6 with a 9-Wood. Paul Case and Drexel Roe witnessed the shot. Two days later, Trenton golfer Jerry West turned the same feat on hole No. 5. West used a 7-iron to ace the 110-yard hole. Armco's own John Kraft, and Howard Wilson, witnessed the shot.

Seven aces have been reported at Armco Park this year.
